UWMC is looking for an outstanding Full-Time Pharmacy IT Analyst - PIMS to provide pharmacy computer and technical support for the Pharmacy Inventory Management System (PIMS) project, which spans the UW Medicine enterprise, including inpatient pharmacies at University of Washington Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, Northwest Hospital and Valley Medical Center and the ambulatory pharmacy at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
Support the Design, Build, Test and Implementation of the Pharmacy Inventory Management Systems (PIMS) - 90%
Build and maintain the pharmacy item catalog, including medications and supplies, as directed by the PIMS project IT pharmacists.
Collect and document medication inventory and supply information, including item description, base packaging units, NDC's, dimensional data and barcodes.
Participate in PIMS application training.
Configure, secure and support peripheral hardware, including printers and mobile wireless scanning devices.
Configure and support pharmacy workstations and printers in PIMS test lab.
Assist with design and configuration of the automated dispensing carousels.
Assist with test script requirements and development.
Assist with application, integration and performance testing as directed.
Support the implementation and maintenance of the PIMS application at each of the UW Medicine inpatient pharmacies and SCCA ambulatory pharmacy.
Follow UW Medicine security and confidentiality policies and procedures.
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Biology, related field OR equivalent education/experience.
Four plus years experience as a pharmacy technician in an inpatient or ambulatory pharmacy practice.
Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician in Washington State.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) with exceptional customer service principles.
Superior organizational skills coupled with detail oriented mindset.
Ability to work independently under general direction of project team members.
Working knowledge of desktop computers.
Proficiency with basic office applications, including Word and Excel, and
Interest and aptitude in information technology.
Experience with pharmacy wholesaler purchasing and inventory management or other equivalent supply chain experience.
Experience with automated dispensing carousels or other equivalent experience.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
Ability to work in fast-paced professional office environment.
May work off hours and weekends or extended hours during deployment.
On call coverage (7x24), as assigned.
Must have personal transportation for quick access to multiple sites, including above medical centers.
