The Department of Pharmaceutics, part of the UW School of Pharmacy, has an outstanding opportunity for Research Scientist Engineer 3 to join and lead projects within our Targeted Long- acting Combination Anti-Retroviral Therapy (TLC-ART) Program.
Duties and responsibilities for this position will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Develop concepts and design experiments for hypothesis testing in in vitro and in vivo models
Analyze and present data & assemble reports for formal publication and regulatory submissions
Particle sizing and characterization of drugs and excipients, LC-MS/MS, and HPLC analyses
Assist with trouble shooting and quality control of data
Keep meticulous records and be attentive to procedural details
Provide project and budgetary status reports to the Principal Investigator
Mentor junior lab members
Perform related duties as required

Three to five years of experience in laboratory biomedical research
Expertise in data analysis using computer programs such as Excel and Prism
Prior experience with writing grants, reports, and scientific manuscripts
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
PhD or MS with proven track record in biomedical sciences
Expertise and background in biochemistry, immunology, microbiology or molecular biology
Regulatory experience preparing submissions to the FDA
Knowledge of cGLP and cGMP practices
Experience with CMC and drug development
Training in LC-MS/MS, fluorescence spectroscopy and microscopy, nanomedicine, lipid-drug interactions
Experience with viral pharmacology and immunology
Drug formulation and analysis experience
