The Division of Journalism invites nominations and applications for a professor of practice to teach courses in news reporting and digital journalism while also advising digital student media operations. The Division of Journalism offers a major and minor in journalism and a major in fashion media. The program trains journalists to communicate in all areas relating to news media, digital journalism and video. The state-of-the-art Journalism Complex includes offices, classrooms, a digital newsroom and broadcast studio. The programs in journalism and fashion media emphasize strong technology skills as well as the traditional foundation in writing, editing, critical thinking and ethics. The ideal candidate will have a versatile reporting background as well as a proven and ongoing curiosity in embracing new media techniques. Teaching responsibilities will include basic and advanced courses that cover writing, reporting, digital skills, social media and multimedia, as well as the possibility of developing other elective courses depending on area of expertise. Responsibilities also include academic advising and committee work. The position begins August 2017.
