Utica College, a small comprehensive college in Upstate New York, seeks applications for a Dean of Academic Assessment. Founded in 1946, Utica College is a private comprehensive institution distinguished for its integration of liberal and professional study. Our dedicated faculty and staff have built a tradition of excellence in teaching and learning with particular emphasis on providing individual attention to students. The College enrolls approximately 3,700 students – approximately 2,700 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students. Utica College is located in an attractive, family-friendly area of upstate New York near the foothills of the Adirondacks offering easy access to a broad variety of recreational and cultural attractions.
The Dean for Academic Assessment is responsible for planning and managing multi-faceted projects related to academic assessment, planning, accreditation efforts, and other special projects. The position performs highly-complex tasks related to: academic assessment planning, analysis, and interpretation; determining organizational needs; collaborating with and communicating to campus constituencies; providing training in assessment to, and organizing training opportunities for, members of the faculty, student services staff, and athletic personnel; making recommendations, providing progress reports, and following through on project implementation. This position reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, is a member of the Academic Cabinet, and is a liaison to the Office of the President for all matters related to assessment.
The successful candidate is required to hold an advanced degree; will have excellent communication skills and academic administrative experience, including significant experience with institution-wide assessment activities and data analysis.
