We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as Surgical Nurse Liaison (SNL) Registered Nurse in our Perioperative Team. To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with current NYS RN License, PALS, ACLS and BLS. Master's degree is a plus. The position requires a patient, empathetic, caring nurse with a strong focus on clinical and patient satisfaction; A minimum of 3-5 years of recent acute care experience; Prior experience in PACU, OR or ER is required. Candidate should possess strong interpersonal communication, customer service orientation and creative problem-solving skills. Demonstrated expertise in communicating pertinent information to surgical patients, their families and the multidisciplinary team. Competent to provide care to patient population for which care is provided. Certification in CAPA, CPAN or CNOR preferred.
The successful Surgical Nurse Liaison (SNL) provides patient centered care for patients and their family. SNL implements and coordinates related patient care activities in the perioperative care setting; Acts on behalf of patients and their family in communicating various aspects of patient needs to different areas of patient care such as the Holding Area, Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Medical/Surgical Team and Anesthesia Departments. Ensures continuity of care by providing intermediary contact with family, surgeon, direct care givers and multidisciplinary team throughout the patient's surgical experience.
