Under direct supervision, provide support for health-related research. This candidateâs responsibilities include scanning, entering, maintaining and cleaning data into multicenter clinical research databases. A working knowledge of relational databases (e.g., Microsoft Access) and REDCap is essential. A working knowledge of statistical coding is necessary. Open source R is highly preferable.
The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and extremely detail-oriented, be able to multi-task, and possess strong analytical, organizational, technical, and problem-solving skills.
Key Functions and Expected Performances
Pursue, collect, and organize data from incoming clinical sites.
Record and scan paper research questionnaires into databases using Teleform (optical character recognition) software.
Perform alpha/numeric data entry and processing functions using Teleform software.
Run and modify established R programs for data cleaning purposes.
Test and verify data accuracy by performing error checks, benchmark testing, and debugging.
Update database files and maintain paper and electronic records.
Prepare datasets, create descriptive statistics, random samples, queries, and other data manipulation functions.
Work with others in the multicenter research group (clinical research coordinators, computer systems analysts, statisticians, and physicians) to interpret study data.
