Duties: The Corcoran Center for Real Estate and Urban Action seeks a Community Engagement Manager to aid in developing and maintaining program relationships with community organizations, government sponsored programs and related initiatives in Mattapan. The goal of this effort is to develop and strengthen academic, clinical, service learning and student activity connections with the neighborhood of Mattapan. The position will work with nonprofit organizations, government programs and for profit companies to foster collaboration with Boston College students, faculty, volunteer and service learning programs. Tasks:
Work with neighborhood stakeholders to define interests and opportunities to engage Boston College programs
Connect neighborhood based activities to leaders of academic service learning research and volunteer activities at Boston College
Actively work with the Corcoran Center and on-campus groups to coordinate student/faculty support to organizations and initiatives serving Mattapan residents
Generate sustainable models for ongoing strategic relationships Coordinate and follow-through on logistics of student and faculty engagement
Manage day to day relationships with neighborhood organizations and government officials and serve as a liaison between Boston College and the community
Meet regularly with Boston College representatives to report progress against objectives and on newly added relationships with community stakeholders
Contribute to and develop a program to assess progress Characteristics: Community focused, entrepreneurial, organized, persistent, patient, interpersonal skills, excellent listening skills, interested in advancing diversity and inclusion
Bachelor's degree and (10) ten years of relevant experience in community relations; or Bachelor's and Master's degree and (5) five years of relevant experience in community development or management of community focused initiatives.
