Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Associate III for the Biometrics department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The Research Associate III will provide statistical computing support services to faculty in the Department of Biostatistics. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Develops novel statistical methodologies and/or improve the current methodologies in cancer and biology research.
Implements methodologies proposed by faculty and develops publishable software packages and/or libraries.
Documents functional and technical specifications and writes user manuals for statistical packages.
Understands and adheres to Rutgers’ compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Home Location Campus: Downtown New Brunswick
Prior knowledge of high performance computing, parallel computing and experience with programming in C/C++ preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in computing and statistical packages, knowledge of handling data files, superior organizational skills, professional writing skills and the ability to work independently in a team-based environment.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as the Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
Effective oral and written communication skills required.
