Position: Assistant Varsity Coach, Football Program Twelve month, 100% Athletic Services Basis Academic Professional Appointment
Primary Position Function: Assist the head coach in the total administration of the football program.
Responsibilities: • Assist with the administration of the intercollegiate varsity football program in areas of recruiting, player development (bot on and off field), and daily program Work with other football program staff in the identification, evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes to the University of Illinois. • Follow academic progress of student-athletes in specific position area, in conjunction with DIA Academic Services, and assist Academic Services in intervention with academically at-risk players with the goal of academic eligibility and overall success • Collaborate with other members of the football coaching staff to obtain and review practice and game film with the goal of game plan and player preparation. Ensure student athlete game preparedness in specific position areas by working with both individuals and position groups on specific game plans, and strength and conditioning goals • Assist with practice supervision and on-field coaching by working with student athletes, both as individuals and position groups to instruct on prepared game plans • Specific position duties will be assigned by head coach. • Maintain knowledge of, and compliance with, specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules that relate to this position is required.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications.
