Position Title: Electrical Engineer IV/V/VI
Department: Construction Management
Position Summary: Essential functions include, but are not limited to: for larger projects, reviews electrical drawings and specifications prepared by others for good design practice and NEC (National Electrical Code) compliance; for smaller projects, prepares electrical drawings and requirements for projects in-house or by local electrical contractor; provides electrical support for the Facilities Division by planning, designing, developing, and assisting in construction, maintenance and operations of in-house projects and ensures that design and construction standards are to code; inspects electrical wiring to verify code compliance and to confirm that installation is consistent with intent of design documents; specifies system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications; investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operations, and make recommendations to maintenance crews. May supervise employees but supervision is not the main focus of the job.
Minimum Qualifications: Entry into the applicant pool requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering or relevant field. Certification as a Professional Engineer and a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one prior to selection is also required. Employer will consider advance degrees in lieu of experience.
