Performs the primary functions of EEG and/or Polysomnography; while assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of all assigned patients in the department during scheduled shift, as ordered by a Physician.
Administers and evaluates pharmacological and other therapeutic treatment regimens. Collaborates with other health care professionals; functions as a mentor and resource to others. Complies with BRPT, APT, ASET, AASM and ABRET standards of practice and conduct. Documents patient data to ensure continuity in the provision and coordination of patient care. Establishes priorities and makes ethically-sound decisions to ensure safe patient care. Participates in developing and implementing quality management activities. Performs all other duties as assigned. Performs diagnostic studies as ordered by a physician. Performs Polysomnography with and without CPAP or VPAP titration, MSLT, MWT, computer aided scoring and prepares them for interpretation. Performs routine and in-patient EEG's. Responds to emergency situations and promotes optimal patient outcomes by recognizing changes in the patient's health status. Sets up CPAP and VPAP equipment as needed.
Must be RPSGT or RST registered. CPR certified and EKG arythmia class w/in 90 days of employment. 1-3ys experience and the ability to perform split night testing, PAP titrations, oxygen titrations, scoring on the fly, ability to work alone, patient hook ups, required. Pediatric experience preferred, but not required.
