Under nominal direction, the Research Assistant will perform a variety of non-laboratory research tasks to support several new and ongoing projects within the Prevention Policy Modeling Lab and the HIV Modeling Consortium at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The projects aim to model the health impact, costs and cost-effectiveness of infectious disease prevention and treatment and programs, and involve close collaboration with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The Research Assistant will provide research support to the PI, faculty members and research scientists for projects related to Tuberculosis, HIV, Hepatitis, and STIs.
Duties and Responsibilities: -Conducts systematic and non-systematic literature reviews and data searches using Pubmed, national survey data, and other research methods; -Processes, organizes and summarizes data; reports findings using a variety of scientific, word processing, spreadsheet or statistical software applications; -Maintains study-wide reference library using reference management software; -Analyzes data using excel, may use statistical analysis software (SAS, STATA, SPSS); -Contributes to preparation of presentations, reports and manuscripts relating to projects; -Performs additional supportive duties as needed.
This is a grant funded position through September 29, 2017 with opportunity to extend.

1+ years of related work experience; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
-Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. -Knowledge of basic research methods, experience conducting literature reviews, coursework in statistics, economics, mathematics, health science or other quantitative fields, demonstrated interest in public health. -Data analysis experience, experience working with large datasets, familiarity with statistical analysis software and Microsoft Excel, familiarity with VBA or a desire to learn, interest in contributing to manuscript writing. -Highly organized and detail-oriented, strong communication and writing skills.
