The Faculty of Arts & Sciences (FAS) Office of Finance is a dynamic work environment that conducts strategic and financial analysis, as well as other projects, to inform resource allocation and decision making for Academic Leadership and other Senior Management. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will conduct financial and budgetary analysis for a complex portfolio of departments and centers in the Science Division.
Specific duties include developing an in-depth understanding of department financial structures in order to frame key questions for FAS leadership. This includes analyzing financial performance and budgetary issues, evaluating budget requests, monitoring budget-to-actual results, and reviewing year end results. It also involves working collaboratively on critical strategic financial questions that require thoughtful problem solving and analytical capability. The Senior Financial Analyst provides financial and technical assistance to departments on all types of financial issues. You must have the capacity to navigate effectively across a group of constituents whose operations are of central importance to the FAS. As part of the Budget and Planning Team, you will serve as a key member of the budget team in developing the FAS Consolidated Budget as well as various ad-hoc and special projects as assigned by the Manager of Budget and Planning. The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Manager of Budget and Planning in the Office of Finance.

Union: 00 - Non Union, Exempt or Temporary
Bachelor's degree required. Seven years of financial management/ analytical experience, including demonstrated experience with complex financial analyses. Advanced-level experience with data management and spreadsheet software such as Excel, Access, or Brio required.
MBA or other relevant professional/graduate degree preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Candidate must be well organized, flexible, and able to manage multiple challenging projects simultaneously. Applicant should also have a collaborative working style with excellent consultative and problem solving skills. Candidate must have the ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels of the organization. Experience with Oracle financial systems preferred.
