The Department of Family Medicine has a full time position for a WEB COMPUTING SPECIALIST. This is a 100% position, but 50% of the position is grant funded, and that portion will always be subject to availability of funding.
The Web Computing Specialist will be responsible for general development, design, and daily maintenance of departmental websites and online applications.

Performs general updates and maintenance of the department website and its content as needed using the CMS framework, such as updating site addons and formatting content for publication on the website.
Designs and initializes new websites, web-based applications and platforms utilizing existing database structures for a variety of department sections, projects, and objectives. Examples of this include building project-specific subsites on the department network with some custom programming and developing research surveys using survey software.
Researches news and other timely, departmentally-relevant content for social media and blog posts to the department homepage; repackages staff and faculty submitted news items for social media platforms, as well as appropriating supplementary media such as images or video as necessary.
Designs and maintains the department newsletter and the CHWS newsletter for quarterly publication, including the management of subscribers and distribution.
Uses specialized programs (such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator) to make minor edits and produce supplementary graphics, images, and logos as needed; also produces organizational charts and other visual aids.
Trains staff and faculty on the use of basic content management using the department website CMS, and assisting in troubleshoot issues and difficulties.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, plus two to three years of experience.
Basic experience or background in database design structure and connectivity. Basic experience with image and video editing/formatting applications as pertains to website content management.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration
Experience with Content Management and/or Collaboration Systems such as WordPress and Drupal.
Experience integrating leveraging messaging and/or social media applications into websites. Experience with web design/development environments and programming to meet web stands including accessibility guidelines.
