National School Boards Association (NSBA) seeks an experienced individual to support and advance NSBA’s Federal Advocacy office in their efforts to represent the interests of local school boards on Capitol Hill and with the Administration.
Monitors all relevant legislation, Education Committees (House and Senate), progress of relevant legislation out of said committees. As well as hearing schedules (full and sub), House and Senate floor activity, Congress and White House as a whole.
Prepares, edits, proofs, critiques, formats, distributes and follows up on all correspondence to Congress, White House, federal agencies, and other education organizations and associations
Provides any and all requested production and technical support to NSBA’s Advocacy staff to support efforts to implement approved lobbying strategy; monitors Congressional Record activities for NSBA comments; prepares portions of Quarterly Report to NSBA Board of Directors; attends hearings, researches and reads education related legislation; Schedules meetings for lobbyist Hill visits
Maintains accuracy of Advocacy website, internal informational documents and other information; maintains internal electronic records of Advocacy external communications and policy documents; ensures internal information is easily accessible to all lobbyists
Provide assistance in monitoring relevant non-regulatory guidance issued by federal agencies.
