We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Speech Language Pathologist (Per Diem) in the RUSK HJD Speech Department. To qualify a Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology plus NY State License and Certificate of Clinical Competence in SLP from ALSHA required. Minimum two (2) years of continuous clinical experience in SLP. Knowledge of pediatric neurogenic communication disorders and proficiency in management of pediatric swallowing/feeding disorders. Willingness to adhere to a flexible work schedule. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. The ability to work effectively as a part of trans-disciplinary team with excellent report writing and verbal communication skills.
In this role, the successful candidate will provide speech-language pathology services (evaluation and treatment) to pediatric population in both pediatric inpatient and outpatient settings. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
- Patient Management - Develops, implements, evaluates and plans speech-language pathology treatment programs.
- Conducts Group and individual therapy sessions.
- Documents treatments rendered in accordance with departments protocol.
- Patient/family counseling training.
- Assesses patients communication function and abilities.
- Ongoing professional development continuing education, Required NYS for maintaining licensure.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
