Applications are invited for a Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2017-2018 academic year, beginning July 1, 2017. Applicants should have completed a PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering by the time of appointment. The successful candidate should have a demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate education. The ability to teach core computer science courses such as CS 1, CS 2, programming languages, and data structures and algorithms is essential. Significant background in other computer science areas will be considered a plus, such as software engineering, cloud computing, analytics, or systems. The position is a full-time, nine-month appointment and provides full benefits.

The Department of Computer Science at Wake Forest University is home to computer science BS, BA, MS, and minor programs. There are 11 full-time faculty members in the department. Existing research and educational programs are in the areas of network security, computing for persons with disabilities, imaging, mobile computing, computational biophysics, HPC education, digital media, databases/big data, and GPU computing. The Department prides itself on engaging undergraduate and graduate students in and out of the classroom, providing opportunities for students to work closely with faculty members in their scholarship and research.
