The Program Representative II directly supports the VIPS Scholars program under the immediate supervision of the Academic Advancement Program (AAP) Director of Pre-College and Summer Programs. In this capacity the Program Representative II will serve as the VIPS Retention Coordinator with major duties including (1) creating programming to support VIPS cohort students who have graduated from high school and now attend UCLA and other universities; (2) maintaining a database to track and communicate with VIPS students (3) work with program leadership on student enrollment and retention data; (4) coordinate programs events, course, workshops, and meeting logistics; and (5) other administrative duties including purchases, payments, and reimbursements using appropriate online systems, and monitoring program expenditures and purchases.
The incumbent will also perform administrative functions to support the development and strengthening of partnerships between UCLA and targeted Los Angeles and Pasadena high schools under the Academic Administrator, Director of Pre-College and Summer Programs, who is responsible for working with high school teachers and guidance counselors, assisting with conducting pre-college informational workshops, Saturday Academies and summer programs, improving the academic competitiveness of targeted high school students, and diversify the UCLA and UC applicant pool.
