The Genetic Counselor II will be responsible for:
Managing the hospital's portfolio of genetic test services to assure a single standard of ordering practice and maximizing patient access to these services.
Developing testing guidelines, auditing clinical utility, and working with Finance, payers, counselors and physicians.
Facilitating communication of appropriate elements of the medical record to document clinical necessity for testing.
To qualify, you must have:
A Master's degree from a program accredited by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and at least three years of directly related experience.
The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
Basic database management and project management computer experience, and a willingness to enhance those skills.
Current Massachusetts licensure as a Genetic Counselor by the Board of Registration of Genetic Counselors in accordance with MGL Chapter 112, Sections 227- 233.
Board certification as a genetic counselor by the American Board of Medical Genetics or the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
1-2 years directly related experience preferred
