This is a TEMPORARY, FULL-TIME position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It begins in June of 2017 and is expected to run through August of 2017.

UWC has an outstanding opportunity for four (4) Temporary Recreational Lead within their Summer Youth Program (SYP.).
The Temporary Recreational Lead will work on campus with the UW's summer enrichment program for youth in grades 1-5. Recreational Lead primarily supports the Kids In Motion instructor and works under the supervision of the Campus Coordinators.
In addition to supporting Kids In Motion classes, the Rec Lead is also responsible for planning and conducting outdoor play during before and after care hours and during lunch.
Planning and conducting outdoor play during early morning and late afternoon extended care hours and during lunch.
As needed, facilitate daily communications between group leaders and instructional staff, program administration, volunteers and parents
Help manage the daily check in and out process, as needed.
Assist with student discipline.
Assisting Kids In Motion instructor in running outdoor KIM classes (or inside in the event of rain.)
Assist in the daily clean up and storing of materials.
When not organizing games, sports and activities, perform duties of group leaders, including accompanying groups of children around campus and interacting with parents, staff and teachers.
Experience working with children in groups.
Experience and ability to run group activities for students.
Ability to deal firmly and fairly with issues that arise.
CPR/First Aid certified by June 2017.
Background in Education, Physical Education, Recreational Sports, Outdoor Leadership.
Bachelor's degree in Education, Physical Education, Recreational Sports, Outdoor Leadership.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
Requires willingness and ability to spend up to 35-37.5 hours outside, walking, standing and running.
Must be able to fully participate in health fitness classes with students.
Must be able to lead groups of students to various locations on campus.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
