Position Summary: Presbyterian Senior Care of W.N.Y. Foundation, Inc. is seeking candidates for consideration of its newly-created Director of Development position. In collaboration with the organization’s team of staff and volunteer Board members, the Director provides leadership for the creation of strategic fund development initiatives and is responsible for leading, planning, directing, and organizing the Foundation’s development/fundraising initiatives. These may include annual giving, donor engagement / recognition / stewardship, grant procurement, major gifts, and planned giving.
The Presbyterian Senior Care of W.N.Y. Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit corporation organized to attract contributions from the community, appropriately manage donor gifts, and distribute funds to provide financial support that benefits and advances the mission of an associated entity that provides senior living options in Western New York. A strong relationship is maintained between the Foundation and the associated not-for-profit organization to assure shared direction and integration of both entities.
Qualifications and Expertise: • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Communications, Marketing or a related field required • Minimum of five years proven performance in not-for-profit fundraising required, of which three years are preferred to have been in an eldercare, senior services, or senior housing environment • Background experience in annual giving and donor engagement • Must be organized, highly motivated to set and achieve measurable goals, and possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of all components comprising a successful and diversified development program • Demonstrated leadership abilities and record of progressively responsible successful fundraising and development experience • Must be a self-starter, goal-driven, resourceful and able to work both independently and as a team member • Must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills • Must have the ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with a diverse constituency which includes board members, management staff, volunteers, and donors • Must have a demonstrated proficiency in fundraising software and donor database management
