Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Social Work I for The Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The primary purpose of the Social Worker I position is to provide well-integrated social work services to adult patient systems from age 18 years and older, and facilitate adaptation to a cancer diagnosis. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Works toward resolution of social and environmental problems, which interfere with patients and their families obtaining maximum benefits from medical care.
Provides initial psychosocial assessment to all patients and their support systems.
Formulates psychosocial treatment plans which may include, but it not limited to assistance with: advanced directives, decision making regarding treatment options, patient/family education, and discharge planning.
Home Location Campus: Downtown New Brunswick
Three (3) years of experience in healthcare, primarily psychosocial oncology preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access and Excel.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to interact with diverse patients, physicians, management, and community members.
Must be able to function under rapidly changing and stressful conditions. Credential Required:
New Jersey Professional Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
