Regular: A position which is considered essential for the effective long-term operation of the university. Persons appointed to this position will receive the privileges and benefits associated with regular employment status.
Perform preoperative patient evaluation and coordinate the anesthetic plan in consultation with the anesthesia faculty physician; administer the anesthetic plan with a team approach in all anesthetizing locations; perform postoperative patient evaluation and care; provide timely documentation of postoperative visits on the anesthetic record.
Perform clinical anesthesia duties as assigned by the Anesthesia Clinical Director or designee, including assigned call at night, on weekends and holidays.
To assist faculty physicians in providing for educational needs of residents, medical students and nurse anesthesia students.
To attend continuing education conferences and seminars in order to maintain biannual re-certification through the Council on Re-certification of Nurse Anesthetists, the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
To assist in quality improvement activities as designated by the Department Head or designee.
To share responsibilities of all Department members regarding equipment and supplies, their maintenance and proper use.

Nursing education leading to status of R.N., Bachelors Degree or equivalent
Graduation from an accredited anesthesia training program leading to certification as a CRNA.
Demonstrated job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Current Iowa Board of Nursing RN license to practice in Iowa.
Current Iowa Board of Nursing ARNP license to practice in Iowa.
Prior experience in the delivery of anesthesia services as a member of an anesthesia care team.
M.S. in Nursing or related field.
Recent verifiable experience as a functional team member in a medical team environment
