The physician will function as a member of the inter-disciplinary team providing clinical care to the patients at VASNHCS in inpatient setting. As an attending physician, the responsibilities include providing medical evaluation and directing overall management of patients in collaboration with other members of health care team. Opportunity for outpatient work may be available. Coverage as an attending physician in the Medical Intensive Care Unit expected. Supervision and education of Internal Medicine Residents and medical students from University of Nevada, School of Medicine, is required part of the job. Internal Medicine consultation requested from other services would be provided by the hospitalist with help of medical housestaff. Support from pulmonary/critical care, cardiology, neurology and other medical and surgical specialties is available on a 24/7 basis. Participation in quality improvement process and compliance to policies and regulations of the VASNHCS is expected.

Work Schedule: Rotating shifts may include weekends, nights, holidays, days, and evenings.
