Team Leader - Environmental Services – Orlando Florida Hospital seeks to hire a team leader who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ. Over the years the hospital has continually expanded to meet the needs of the community, adding an upscale obstetrics and Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place, cancer care at the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute, Winter Park, and state-of-the-art surgery, recovery and rehabilitation at the Florida Hospital Orthopedic Institute. Environmental Services: The environmental services department is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our patient rooms and ancillary areas such as offices, public areas and other hospital departments. Our team follows a ten step cleaning and patient experience process to excel with patient and client engagement. Work Hours: This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. Hours will be 7:00am to 3:30pm five days a week, with variable days to include working alternating weekends. Job Summary: Assist shift supervisors and department directors in the day to day function of the department. Maintain high level of quality in all aspects of the department's duties, by training, supporting supervising and interacting with department team members. Ensure that all schedules are assigned and completed daily. Set a positive example for department through professional interactions with team members, customers, patient and families. Employee job duties may include transport of hazardous waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area. Employee will be required to complete initial training (prior to handling hazardous waste) and refresher training to include proper handling and transport of hazardous waste, and proper selection, use and disposal of personal protective equipment. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or director. Actively participate in outstanding customer service and accept responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Knowledge and Skills Required: Demonstrate safe and correct use of environmental services equipment and chemicals used daily within the department. Some computer skills required basic use of word and navigation through windows. Licensure, Certification or Registration Required: · N/A Education and Experience Required: · N/A Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities: · Demonstrate through behavior Florida Hospital's core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork as outlined in the organization's Performance Excellence Program booklet. · Provide assignments and assistance to team members. · Perform cleaning function using the 10 steps process · Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment in all aspects of job performance. · Accesses the medication room for cleaning purposes only. (Will be properly oriented on med room procedures.) · Relieve shift supervisor in times of absence · Adjust or cover schedules as needed during times of sort staffing · Ensure that team member maintain set standards by conducting quality assurance surveys. · Monitor and report any equipment issues or shortages. · Conduct customer and patient surveys. · Any other duties as assigned by supervisor or director. · Interact with patients/customers in an appropriate manner
