Responsible for supervising the Director of Accounting and Accounting Specialist.
Maintains a working knowledge of reimbursement principles and regulatory practices for health-related services.
Responds to health care related inquiries from and provides guidance to members.
Maintains an active role in the Healthcare Financial Management Association, including serving as an ex-officio member of the Nebraska HFMA Chapter Board of Directors.
Participates in various stakeholder groups including the AHA’s A2 Finance Group in order to be informed of current federal reimbursement/regulation issues.
C. Membership Support
Designs reports, surveys or other tools for special projects that support the Association and/or its members.
Prepares impact analysis on Medicare, Medicaid and other payor reimbursement programs on health services for the Association and its members, including drafting of comment letters or hearing testimony.
Communicates with Nebraska Congressional Delegation and/or their staffers regarding impact of current or proposed policy or reimbursement issues.
In collaboration with the Vice President of Advocacy, coordinates NHA’s Advocacy efforts at the annual Washington visit with the American Hospital Association.
Responsible for managing the NHA salary survey process and vendor contract.
In collaboration with the Director of Communications and Director of Marketing, responsible for conducting an annual community benefits survey.
Responsible for managing the contract with DataGen (subsidiary of HANYS), distributing analyses and reports to the membership and preparing the data for Advocacy purposes.

Understanding of Medicare Cost Reports requirements, process and information reporting.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a health care organization, health policy or government program, consulting, compliance or regulatory environment.
Minimum of 5 years with a successful track record in finance/regulations.
Experience in a high-visibility external role where judgment, tact, flexibility and resourcefulness are required.
Knowledge of nonprofit trade associations (desired).
