Under general supervision, evaluates and reviews designs, drawings and specifications for new buildings/structures and for renovation projects. Serves as the point of contact on construction projects for all building codes, applicable state, federal and local laws.
Completion of an undergraduate degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of diversified and related experience in design, construction document review, building/fire codes and construction administration. Must have an active Registration in Architecture in the State of Georgia. Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel statewide.
Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical and communication skills and possess the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals in a diverse organization. Must possess the ability to read and interpret contracts, construction documents and Building and Life Safety Codes. Must exemplify leadership, personal initiative and be capable of planning and prioritizing work. Must be committed to quality service and possess the ability to identify solutions to complex problems. Must be time line driven. Considerable knowledge of building construction documents, Georgia State Minimum Standards, Georgia State Fire and Accessibility Codes and the Americans with Disability Act is required. Experience working with AutoCAD and/or Revit, Microsoft Word and Excel.
The work is typically performed in an office environment, but there is some required travel in the State of Georgia.
