QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical), or a related degree in construction management.
Experience: One (1) year experience in construction, design, and/or technical specialization.
Preferred Experience: One (1) year in work coordination, training, and daily oversight of staff, students, or volunteers.
Other: Requires training related to occupational safety and health environmental compliance, shipping of hazardous materials, and/or ionizing radiation.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Able to perform position in compliance with all requirements, regulations, and laws. Comprehensive knowledge of construction, and/or electrical, and/or mechanical methods, materials, equipment, regulations, codes and practices. Ability to understand engineering and other construction drawings. Skill in PC applications including spreadsheet and database management, computer aided design software, word processing, and project scheduling strongly desired. Willing to develop skill with Archibus space management software.
- Ability to maintain high standards with the work being performed and maintain awareness with trends and influences. Assumes personal responsibility for all outcomes; makes effective and timely decisions; and learns how to effectively use technology. Maintains productivity and uses knowledge strategies to increase knowledge base. Skill in analyzing complex topics, policies, and procedures in order to prepare detailed summaries and reports. Possess excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to identify areas for development and improvement in the operation services and processes.
- Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and shift priorities simultaneously. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Interprets and understands written information and is able to listen attentively to verbal and non-verbal cues that lead to a deeper understanding. Ability to maintain confidentiality of subjects and information obtained.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others and demonstrates professional, ethical, respectful, and courteous behavior when interacting with others. Capable of interacting pleasantly and positively with other to meet customer expectations, and provide follow up with customers.
