Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Operations Supervisor, Award Setup for the Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED). As part of ORED, this position will work with the department of Grant & Contract Accounting (GCA) as a critical bridge between the Pre-Award proposal stage and the Post-Award sponsored project activity. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Responsible for the functional operations of the Oracle Cloud Financial Management System (FMS) as it relates to Award Setup, Accounts Receivable and Cash Management.
Identifies financial, administrative, and/or regulatory issues impacting the execution of an award and works with the research community to resolve these issues and establish the appropriate accounting framework on fully executed awards.
Works with the Manager II and Director to prepare metrics and drive improvements related to systems and process.
Supervises the award setup team.
Facilitates a seamless transition of award actions from Pre-Award to Post-Award.
Ensures that the setup team's work is accurate and timely, ready to deliver fully setup up accounts to GCA grant accountants and departments.
Works with GCA revenue/cash operations team to ensure proper and timely application of cash receipts against outstanding invoices.
Develops and maintains metrics related to award setup, accounts receivable and cash management.
Liaises with GCA IT and OIT to submit, monitor and implement technical issues and improvements to related databases and financial systems.
Assists with month end close process, including but not limited to resolving exceptions.

Knowledge of Rutgers University systems, policies, and procedures pertaining to sponsored program accounting is highly desirable.
Knowledge of research compliance preferred.
Three years of supervisory experience highly desirable.
Experience working with Oracle financial system a plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated leadership experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft office products – Excel and Access.
Must possess excellent written, verbal, organizational and analytic skills and the ability to function in a team environment.
Must be able to understand and apply the information pertaining to grant & contract documents, University and agency policies, and other governing regulations to ensure compliance.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks and special assignments in a professional manner.
Must be capable of working with diverse population of clients.
