Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent related experience. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Network related duties, preferably in a College or University environment. Must have experience in building enterprise class data networks; in-depth knowledge of layer 2 wired and wireless network technologies; experience with enterprise class LAN equipment and services including equipment from major vendors such as Cisco Systems, Brocade, etc.; extensive experience in the use of protocol analyzers, network sniffers and management tools, and other tools of the trade; knowledge and understanding concepts of a wide range of specialized network devices including firewalls, firewall intrusion prevention/detection systems, VPN access concentrators, application load balancers, and network analyzers; strong working knowledge of commonly used network protocols and services, including DNs, DHCP, NTP, RADIUS, IPSec, SSL, SSH; working experience in understanding and writing scripts (shell, Perl, etc.) as needed; strong working knowledge of various network management protocols, including a through understanding of SNMP-based network management tools and platforms; knowledge on application specific equipment and networking on a variety of hardware and software is essential. Must have excellent troubleshooting skills; ability to multitask between a wide variety of duties, projects, and tasks; excellent documentation skills are required; ability to work independently and also in a team environment.
