Assist Program Director with case management and referring clients, students and employees to the appropriate social service resources within Gloucester County and the surrounding areas. Work with clients individually and in a workshop setting on career planning, resume development, job search, interviewing and all related skills and subjects. Work with Technician and Case Manager Assistant on an as needed basis. This is a partially grant-funded position.
Examples of Duties
Meet with clients experiencing situational crises, complete intakes, initiate and help to implement plans of action, refer clients to social service resources.
Meet with RCGC students, employees, and alum to provide assistance as appropriate and refer them to social service resources.
Meet with clients regarding their career plans, resumes, job search, interview skills and all related subjects. Prepare resumes and provide job leads for clients.
Case management including but not limited to initiating, implementing and following up with each client's Plan of Action.
Advocate for client / student needs.
Prepare and implement informational workshops pertinent to the social service, budgeting and career realms.
Visit social service agencies to provide information on the Center's mission and to keep well informed as to available resources for clients and students.
Attend events and meetings held through People in Transition, Division on Women, NJ Displaced Homemaker Network and Rowan College at Gloucester County as deemed necessary by Program Director.
Maintain statistical information on outcomes of all initiatives and assist with grant writing and reports.
When necessary, perform or assist with duties of other department staff and related duties as assigned.
Available to work nights and weekends as needed
Bachelors degree required. Masters degree in Human Services / Career Counseling area strongly preferred.
In-depth understanding in handling very confidential information and a strong work ethic exemplifying client / student right to privacy.
Experience in higher education setting required.
Experience in career counseling and related career services.
Knowledge of social service resources within Gloucester County and the surrounding areas.
Ability to establish a rapport with clients, employees and students leading them to a comfort zone to share, and subsequently initiate and aid in implementing plans of action based on individual needs.
Case Management skills and experience with people in situational crises.
Comfortable in reaching out to community resources and advocating for client and student needs.
Workshop presentation skills and experience.
Familiar with Myers Briggs Type Indicator and career assessment programs.
Working knowledge Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Banner preferred.
Ability to learn computer software programs specific to Division on Women and State of New Jersey
Superb listening and interpersonal skills.

Flexible, adaptable and upbeat attitude due to unpredictable client / student / employee situations.
Minimum of three years working in women's issues, social services, career and case management
Must be available to work days, nights and weekends depending on needs of clients and funders.
Be willing to travel throughout New Jersey to attend meetings in the absence of the Director. Personal vehicle required.
