We are a busy, 6-physician; retina-only group and we are actively searching for two new retina specialists to join our group. A senior member has recently retired, one will plan to slow down, and we remain extremely busy and have need for 2 new physicians. We plan/assume that the newly hired physicians will want to continue with us on a partner track for the future.
We are exclusively a retina medical and surgical clinic. The clinic was founded in 1989 and has been treating patients and expanding continuously since then. We have a main office in Little Rock at the Baptist Eye Center on the Campus of Baptist Medical Center. We travel to 5 clinics in smaller cities and towns in Arkansas on a regular basis. We have a wide network of referral sources including ophthalmologists and optometrists throughout the state and into the neighboring states. The main office is fully staffed with EHR, digital angiography with trained retinal angiographers, 3 Zeiss Cirrus OCT machines and an Opotos Camera with angiography capability. We use scribes in all of our clinics.
The local ophthalmic community is well served with all of the recognized ophthalmic specialties represented: comprehensive, glaucoma, cornea, neuro-ophthalmology, pediatric, low vision, oculoplastic and uveitis. The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences offers services for electrophysiology/ERG and specialized genetic testing and has an ocular genetics clinic. A private practice neuro-ophthalmologist also offers easy access multifocal ERG services.
We perform our surgeries in the very conveniently located operating suites on the first floor of our main clinic. The surgical suites are equipped with recently purchased ceiling mounted Zeiss operating microscopes and Alcon Constellation vitrectomy units. The microscopes are equipped with Biome wide angle viewing systems. The OR staff is fully trained to assist with retina cases. We have excellent access to the operating rooms for scheduled and emergency cases.
Our clinic is fully staffed with excellent photographers and angiographers.
Little Rock has a population of approximately 200,000 and continues to increase as does the metropolitan area. Traffic is minimal. Housing costs remain below the national average. The city offers access to an excellent selection of restaurants which also continues to increase. The newly renovated Robinson Center offers performances by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, the Arkansas Ballet and nationally touring plays.
Despite being a growing city, the possibility of purchasing large properties/tracts of land even within the city or within convenient driving distance of the clinic is possible.
Little Rock was recognized by Kiplinger’s personal finance magazine in 2013 as one of the “10 Great Places to Live” among small and midsize cities and the city continues to grow and to improve. Excellent biking and kayaking trails exist and are being expanded within the city. Pinnacle State Park offers hiking within a few miles of the city limits. The state offers numerous outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, boating, kayaking, mountain biking, road biking opportunities. There are 52 state parks and the Buffalo National River, and numerous national historic sites. Hot Springs National Park offers beautiful lakes, top-notch horse racing, natural thermal waters and spas and is less than an hour drive from Little Rock. Riverfest is an annual music festival in May along the Arkansas River front that attracts nationally recognized musicians. The award winning Arkansas River Trail is a paved, bicycle, running and walking trail that extends approximately 16 miles through Little Rock from downtown to west Little Rock with further expansions planned.
