The payroll manager will provide leadership and vision to the payroll team and is responsible for all payroll functions. May require accountability to both finance and human resource departments. This is a working senior manager position that will process bi-weekly payroll with one payroll supervisor and a payroll team of 7+ payroll technicians, serving a population of 22,000 associates.
Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in related field highly preferred
Certified Payroll Professional with 3 years of management experience in payroll preferred (required if no Bachelor's degree)
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum Experience Requirements
7 - 10 years of payroll experience in a company of 5,000 or more employees
Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )
■ Participates in leadership of the department by coordinating training activities for staff, assuming an active role
in the management team meetings and activities and assisting in the decision making process for departmental
■ Ensures the ongoing development and review of departmental policies and procedures by coordinating
revisions with appropriate staff, monitoring progress, and reviewing necessary changes with other members of
management team. *
■ Investigate employee inquiries and direct monthly account reconciliation process to ensure that all payroll
accounts are reconciled and that adjustments are proposed in a timely manner. *
■ Develops, monitors, and maintains payroll and business expense disbursement processes*
■ Ensure payroll is processed according to Federal, State and Local laws and regulations as well as in accordance
with established Company guidelines and controls. *
■ Ensure all timesheets are received, reviewed, adjusted as needed, and reconciled accordingly. *
■ Manage the performance of off-schedule payments, such as replacement checks; termination pays; lump sum
■ Manage the entering of employee information into the payroll system including new hire information,
employee changes, deductions, garnishments and adjustments.*
