The National Recreation and Park Association is currently seeking to fill the position of Government Affairs Manager. The person in this role will represent NRPA before Congress and the Executive Branch regarding the issues of health and wellness and other issues as assigned. The Government Affairs Manager is responsible for monitoring proposed legislative and regulatory action, analyzing the impact such action may have on NRPA and developing and implementing strategies to advance NRPA’s legislative and regulatory interests in these areas.
Advocacy - Engages in direct lobbying of Congress and the Administration relative to the issues of health and wellness; formulates and implements legislative initiatives which result in the specific benefit to NRPA and its membership.
Outreach - Develops and implements advocacy campaigns which advance NRPA’s legislative initiatives; includes engaging NRPA members and other organizations.
Communication - Summarizes legislation and writes legislative and regulatory analyses for internal and external audiences; develops legislative and policy-related briefing materials, speeches, talking points and presentations; assists in preparing NRPA’s legislative platform.

Salary – $60,000 - $65,000
