Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1.) Obtains vital signs and performs routine patient intake, documenting appropriately.
2.) Directs patient flow. Assists other staff in need of assistance to maintain patient flow.
3.) Performs and documents basic patient history, treatments and administered medications appropriately.
4.) Administers prescribed medications and treatments as directed by the provider following PCC policies and procedures.
5.) Maintains accurate medical records and reports to the nurse any pertinent information regarding the patient’s condition and care.
6.) Keeps providers informed of changes in assignments or patient flow that will affect working conditions.
7.) Performs laboratory and diagnostic tests as ordered by the provider.
8.) Ensures exam rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and materials. Orders medical supplies under supervision of the Clinic Administrator.
9.) Performs and records quality control checks on specific medical equipment, office diagnostic tests following established protocol as directed.
10.) Maintains patient confidentiality.
11.) Maintains a neat and orderly clinical work area.
12.) Observes PCC policies, procedures, and safety practices.
13.) Follows PCC customer service guidelines and protocols.
14.) Performs other duties as required and assigned by the Clinic Administrator.
1.) Graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant Program.
2.) Previous clinical experience preferred.
1.) Current Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
2.) Current and valid CPR card.
1.) Standing on feet for extended periods of time.
2.) Frequent bending, reaching and walking.
3.) Ability to lift 25 pounds.
4.) Required travel between sites
5.) Required shift rotation.
1.) Ability to read and write proficiently using the English language.
2.) Good interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians and other health care providers.
3.) Some sites REQUIRE bilingual English/Spanish fluency (PCC Melrose Park, Salud, South, and West Town)
