Lowell School, a progressive school of 300+ students in Northwest Washington, DC, is currently seeking applicants for the position of Early Elementary Collaborating Lead Teacher (co-teacher). Ideal candidates will hold a degree in early childhood or elementary education, possess knowledge of the social, emotional, and academic needs of lower elementary children, and be well versed in best practice for delivering language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies instruction.
Strong candidates will also be familiar with and have a professional passion for social curriculum, experiential learning, social justice education, thematic teaching, differentiated instruction, and curriculum development through the Understanding By Design process. Experience with Lucy Calkins Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop, TERC Investigations, and Responsive Classroom is preferred.
