| The Research Coordinator is a key member of a multi-disciplinary team that conducts research projects in Botswana at the Botswana-Harvard AIDS Institute Partnership.|
Particular areas of focus include aiding with the logistics of implementation of new and existing clinical trials and surveillance research focusing on maternal-infant HIV transmission, infant HIV treatment, infant outcomes, birth outcomes, and community-based HIV prevention interventions. As there are generally multiple grants and projects underway within this study group, it is the responsibility of the Research Coordinator to assist in the coordination of these projects as an active member of the research team.
This work may involve:
-Communicating with study personnel and local clinic/public health personnel.
-Helping to set up or renovate study clinics.
-Liaising with data management/IT staff, etc.
-Assisting in drafting, editing, revising and/or submitting study budgets, regulatory documents for ethics committees and study monitors, new research proposals, manuscripts, and scientific presentations.
-Other duties as assigned.
The research team consists of faculty members, study coordinators, physicians, nurses, regulatory officers, drivers, data personnel/programmers, and research assistants.
