Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts seeks a collaborative, motivated, dynamic and strategic Assistant Vice President for Student Financial Assistance. The Assistant Vice President of Student Financial Assistance is the Chief Financial Aid Officer for the college and will provide strategic leadership and oversight in the awarding and distribution of over $83 million in state, federal and institutional aid to both graduate and undergraduate students.
Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the AVP will collaborate with members of the Enrollment Management Team and strategic partners in developing and implementing awarding policies which maximize impact in achieving the College’s recruitment objectives, retention goals, and institutional priorities. The AVP will work closely with both Admission and Marketing to implement communication strategies to both articulate the value and affordability of a Stonehill College education and assist families in navigating the financial aid process. He or she will work with campus partners and the broader community to build families’ understanding of financial aid, enhance transparency and represent the college in the regional and national dialogue on college affordability.
The Assistant Vice President will oversee eight staff as well as the daily operations of the office of Student Financial Assistance, insuring institutional compliance with all applicable state and federal statutes and regulations, while assuring excellence in customer service. Additionally, the AVP will lead his or her team in leveraging technology and enhancing business practices to continuously improve efficiency, communication and student awareness and satisfaction.
The successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree (an advanced degree preferred) and have at least eight years of progressive experience and success as a financial aid professional at a college or university. Competitive candidates must have at least three years of management experience supervising full time, professional financial aid communicative campus leader, is an advocate for the liberal arts, and is committed to assisting all students in accessing a Stonehill College education.
