Job Summary: Michigan State University seeks to fill a one-year, full-time instructor or assistant professor in Chinese language teaching. This person will teach three courses per semester. The instructor will teach Chinese language courses at all levels and will be expected to participate in the activities related to the Department of Linguistics and Germanic, Slavic, Asian, and African Languages in the College of Arts & Letters. The position will include responsibility for coordinating and supervising teaching assistants. This 9-month Academic Year position will begin August 16, 2017 with the possibility of renewal. This is a fixed-term position with potential for renewal based on performance and availability of funding. Minimum Requirements: We seek candidates with primary interests and experience in the teaching and learning of Chinese language. The successful candidate will bring innovative ideas and language program experience to a growing university-level Chinese language program. Familiarity with communicative language teaching is a must. Candidates must have at least a MA degree in an appropriate field.
