The University of California, Merced is the newest and tenth campus of the University of California system and the first American research university built in the 21st century. The Applications Programmer applies professional programming concepts for small to medium-sized projects or portions of larger projects. Resolves a variety of programming design and implementation issues. Works on programming assignments of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
Ability to assist in the development of database systems by conferring with high-level management to determine problems and requests feasibility of K-12 student databases, financial database, database-driven web application. Knowledge of generation of reports within Adobe ColdFusion, Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, Microsoft SQL Server 2012, TeleForm, Access, and web services architecture for system integration; and the ability to evaluate basic programs for functional areas. Assist in analyzing existing programs or works to formulate logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding, data analysis, and tests/debugs programs through the application of professional programming concepts.
