Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term Interpersonal Violence Services Coordinator. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Director.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is a leader within the Division of Student Affairs in supporting the mental well-being of all OSU students. CAPS provides a variety of services to help students address the challenges and difficulties they face. We are dedicated to helping students by providing brief mental health services, or, if more intensive or specialized care is needed, making referrals to healthcare providers in the community. Further, CAPS seeks to support students with underrepresented identities that may include LGBQ, international, Trans* students, and ethnically/racially diverse students.
The Interpersonal Violence Services (IVS) Coordinator position is primarily focused on ensuring that OSU students who have experienced interpersonal violence are provided with excellent clinical care. This is done by coordinating CAPS services for survivors of interpersonal violence, facilitating training for CAPS clinicians regarding trauma-informed best practices, and supporting a professional environment that encourages clinicians to practice healthy trauma stewardship. In addition to these core responsibilities the IVSC also actively consults with OSU faculty and staff regarding how to best support students who have experienced trauma. Additionally, the IVS Coordinator collaborates with the Associate Director for the OSU Survivor Advocacy and Resource Center (SARC) regarding campus interpersonal violence response efforts. The IVS Coordinator may also, in collaboration with the SARC Associate Director, conduct trainings and presentations across campus to increase awareness of available support and reporting resources, and to facilitate a more supportive climate and trauma informed response to survivors. The IVS Coordinator contributes to the development of purposeful campus initiatives, programs, policies, and procedures regarding response to interpersonal violence.
The IVS Coordinator leads the IVS clinical treatment team and coordinates the internal CAPS agency response to survivors of interpersonal violence, in consultation with the Director and Associate Director for Clinical Services. The IVS Coordinator also organizes and provides training for CAPS staff and trainees around issues related to interpersonal violence and serves as a consultant to CAPS staff regarding how to work most effectively with CAPS clients who have experienced interpersonal violence.
This position requires a strong, innovative team leader to oversee the IVS program in collaboration with numerous offices within OSU campus and the community. In addition, CAPS seeks candidates with strong cross-cultural fluency in supporting survivors of interpersonal violence from all backgrounds.
The IVS Coordinator position reports to the Associate Director for Clinical services at CAPS.
Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):
Typically requires Masters in Counseling, Clinical, Family Therapy, or equivalent from an accredited program. Obtain licensure in the state of Oregon within 18 months of employment, or as a Social Worker in the state of Oregon within 6 months of employment.
Masters in counseling, psychology, social work, marriage/family therapy, or other relevant mental health profession degree (doctoral degree is not required, but is also acceptable).
Currently licensed or ability to be licensed in Oregon or another state by position start date.
Advanced knowledge of current counseling and psychotherapy practices and methods.
Demonstrable multicultural competence and commitment to social justice practices in serving underrepresented students, as well as educating the campus community about how interpersonal violence uniquely impacts diverse communities.
Two years of specialized experience treating survivors of interpersonal violence; advanced knowledge and skills in trauma informed practices.
Specialized training in providing services to survivors of interpersonal violence. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in the development of support services.
Demonstrated ability to work with and build professional relationships across campus for the effective delivery of support services.
Ability to plan, implement, evaluate, and report activities.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and to prepare written documents.
Ability to communicate orally, both in person and by telephone.
Ability to respond appropriately and in a timely manner to emergency and urgent situations.
Ability to maintain a consistent and dependable work schedule.
Ability to collaborate with others (e.g., SARC) in providing workshops, training, outreach programs, and educational opportunities during occasional evening and weekend hours.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months.
Occasional night and weekend work may be required.
Salary (Minimum): $41,664
Salary (Maximum): $70,704
Additional Salary Information: Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
