UW Medicine Finance has an outstanding opportunity for a Budget Director, Northwest Hospital. This position will be based in the University District and the UW Tower in Seattle. The Budget Director will be responsible for the management and oversight of the operating budget and long range planning activities of Northwest Hospital and Medical Center. The results will guide executive leadership in making key strategic decisions.
Direct Budget and Long Range Financial Plan processes
Provide management with operational reports to monitor financial performance in relation to key metrics
Ensure transparent financial reporting with leader accountability to both internal goals and external benchmarks
Oversee consistent and reliable methodology of reporting statistics, benchmarks, surveys and leader financial goal management

The NWH Budget Director is accountable to the UW Medicine System Director of Budget and Planning. The Budget Director serves as an integral part of the Finance Leadership team and will work in support of the UW Medicine system Director of Budget and Planning and other members of UW Medicine Leadership to support the needs of the enterprise.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related technology field AND at least five (5) years of professional healthcare finance experience AND at least five (5) years of progressive responsibilities in management, leadership, supervisory and program management skills demonstrated by continuing professional growth. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
Ability to prepare complex financial analysis and interpretations with high degree of accuracy.
Proven analytical, verbal and written communications skills.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Proficiency working with financial computer applications, such as Excel, Access and Word.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
Ability to formulate recommendations and interpret financial information.
Ability to work independently with a minimum level of supervision.
Master's degree in health care administration, business administration, or related field.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
Building forecasts on relevant and current inputs may result in time constraints on project schedules. Individual needs to be available outside of regular business hours to ensure timely delivery of plans to the Board and Finance Committee.
Requires regular weeks >40 hours. Meetings with executive leadership will often require early morning meetings. Accessibility on weekends and evenings may be required should the situation present itself.
