| This position provides project support for 27-varsity sports programs and general recreation services. A major area of responsibility includes customer service and organizational processing and coordination of outside fitness memberships; locker rentals; personal trainer & private tennis instructor offerings; front desk staff scheduling & training; and Bachman Golf Center memberships. Position is also responsible for utilizing layout software to assemble text, photographs, videos and other content for design of sport-and department-specific communications such as printed and electronic newsletters and email correspondence.|
KLARC MEMBER SERVICES (45%)
Responsible for coordination and processing of member services for Kenneth Langone Athletics and Recreation Center (KLARC) outside memberships and various for-fee offerings. Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist potential and current members via phone, email, or in person.
Manage requests from academic departments for guest-use access for visiting speakers, lecturers, and campus guests.
General membership and fee-for-service processing that will include payments/renewals for individual/family KLARC memberships, locker rentals, personal training sessions, private tennis lessons, private swim lessons, Bachman Golf Center memberships, vending trouble-shooting, assembling new member packets and vehicle parking registration. This includes creation and monitoring of database systems.
Work with the Associate Athletics Director of Facilities to ensure on-site staffing for front desk monitor station during all open hours of KLARC.
COMMUNICATIONS DESIGN (45%)
Responsible for utilizing layout software to assemble text, photographs, videos, and other content for design of sport-and department-specific communications such as printed and electronic newsletters and email correspondence. Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Manipulate design properties, such as type size, font style, spacing, column width, and placement, using software that allows the document to be viewed as it would appear in print.
Assemble content according to preestablished criteria with respect to length, content, and formatting.
Perform other editorial tasks, such as creating captions and copy editing content.
Ensure that the newsletter presents correctly in electronic and printed format.
Distribute communication piece to intended audience once approved by authorized staff member.
RECREATION SERVICES SUPPORT (10%)
Responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks to support special projects, reports, and initiatives in the Recreation Services area.
High school diploma or equivalent
Two or more years of office experience
Experience working in a customer service environment, where communication with various groups of individuals via phone, email, and face-to-face is frequent
Strong computer skills and familiarity with programs like Microsoft Office Suite and/or publishing software
Competencies including creativity, eye for detail and editorial skills, being able to work independently, ability to take and correctly interpret instructions, and ability to manage deadlines and priorities
