The Vice President - Finance directs and coordinates all Association, Foundation and other subsidiary organization corporate activities concerned with financial administration, general accounting, and financial reporting. This position is responsible for providing reimbursement policy analysis for hospital members; formulating strategies with government agencies to protect and maximize hospital members’ interests; building relationships with NHA members and the extended health care financial community, including HFMA; and acting as the NHA’s chief advocate on financial policy.
The position requires a self-motivated individual who possesses excellent organizational skills, a high-level of enthusiasm, and a detail oriented mindset. A strategic thinker, but detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem solving, project management, and communication skills including public speaking. Ability to communicate well with management, other co-workers, and hospital members both individually and in group settings.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and general knowledge of accounting software.
Understanding of Medicare Cost Reports requirements, process and information reporting.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a health care organization, health policy or government program, consulting, compliance or regulatory environment.
Minimum of 5 years with a successful track record in finance/regulations.
Experience in a high-visibility external role where judgement, tact, flexibility and resourcefulness are required.
Knowledge of nonprofit trade associations (desired).
HFMA Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP), (certification).
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, health care administration, or business administration. Master’s degree preferred.
