Direct Hire opportunity located North of Pittsburgh
The Project Manager is responsible for the timely and cost effective execution of medium sized electro-mechanical projects. Working directly with the engineering and production staffs, the PM will utilize both technical understanding and project management techniques to ensure accurate completion of the defined deliverables. The PM will effectively plan, drive execution and provide oversight to monitor and control activities from project initiation through closeout. The role requires a strong technical background as projects will involve either the development of new products or technologies in the field of radiation detection systems.
Duties/Responsibilities: (Position Specific)
Manage the execution of projects ensuring final deliverables are completed within the defined technical scope, budget and schedule.
Monitor and control project activities including initiating appropriate risk mitigation responses and ensure effective integrated change control across the project.
Accurately define project requirements and develop project plans
Work with project teams to define tasks and work packages in line with project requirements.
Create and maintain project schedules, budgets and cost forecasts.
Conduct routine project review meetings with both internal and external customers.
Interface with management on decisions affecting project budget, scope, and schedules.
Establish and maintain appropriate and effective communications with both internal and external stakeholders.
Provide routine standard project reports for presentation to management.
Seek and drive cross-pollination and synergies from various projects.
Technical contributor to some or all of the technical/scientific problems.
Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Basic working knowledge of Project Management methodologies, processes and techniques.
Proficient computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and MS Project or other Project Management Planning Software tool.
Experience utilizing ERP software/systems is desirable
Ability to work with minimal oversight in a cohesive team environment.
Possess an attention to detail required to drive high level of accuracy in deliverables.
Organizational skills in a fast-paced environment with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities across internal engineering, production, sales and quality control departments.
Effective verbal and written communication skills along with ability to foster productive working relationships across all facets of the organization.
Qualifications – Education/Experience:
A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university.
Minimum of five (5) years of applicable experience with one (1) to two (2) years of project management experience.
Candidates should have a successful track record of engineering and project management for medium size technology-based design/build projects within a manufacturing setting.
Prior experience managing projects with medical, security or U.S. Government programs is highly valued.
Previous knowledge, training and/or experience utilizing Project Management methodologies, processes and techniques is required.
