With general direction from the Baskin School of Engineering's (BSoE) Curriculum and Instruction Support Analyst Supervisor, and in support of and direction of the BSoE Department Managers and Department Chairs, the Curriculum and Instruction Analyst is one of two professional positions within Instructional Support Services (ISS) responsible to coordinate and manage the delivery of BSoE undergraduate and graduate instructional programs, both on-campus and off-campus. This position operates within the centralized BSoE Department Service Center providing essential analytical support, while directing a wide variety of instructionally related administrative functions for all BSoE academic departments/programs in collaboration and partnership with the Curriculum and Instruction Support Analyst Supervisor. The continued evolution of BSoE academic programs has resulted in growing undergraduate and graduate enrollments, new degree offerings, and an expanded presence in the Silicon Valley. The combination of these factors requires significant independence, initiative and professionalism in coordinating and managing BSoE's instructional activities and in working with faculty, staff, and students.
The Curriculum and Instruction Analyst works independently and as a cooperative member of a two-person team in ISS, interacting regularly with faculty and staff both within BSoE and across the campus. Key elements of this position include:
Management and development of quarterly course scheduling and report generation of related activities utilizing the Academic Information System (AIS) and Campus Curriculum and Leave Plan database (CCLP).
Analytical support related to enrollment data management and TA usage.
Management of the BSoE course approval process.
Serves as scheduling and enrollment data resource for BSoE chairs, faculty, teaching assistants, and administrative staff.
Manages the annual and ongoing catalog updates, program statements, course manuscripts, and faculty listings.
Manages the CCLP database and department course web pages.
Manages the online instructor evaluations; permission codes, and faculty teaching data for bio-bibliographies.
Liaison with BSoE's Sr. Department Managers, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Affairs, the BSoE Dean's Office, and with the campus Registrar's office for all BSoE instructional programs.
Development of best practices to ensure workflow, timeliness, and adherence to campus policies
Provide customer service to faculty, students, and staff.
Serve as back-up support to the Instructional Support Coordinator.
Demonstrated knowledge and substantial related administrative experience working with faculty in a university setting, including familiarity with academic departmental administration and academic support services.
Demonstrated administrative and analytical experience, including initiative and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated customer service experience.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply a broad knowledge of higher education policies, procedures and practices from oral and written sources in order to advise faculty, staff and students.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of constituents (administrators, faculty, staff, students and the general public).
