The Darden School Foundation at the University of Virginia seeks a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Advancement Associate. This exciting opportunity provides support to the Darden Advancement team and offers a unique experience working with all areas of Advancement. The Advancement Associate will assist with a wide range of fundraising and volunteer activities as well as various administrative support duties.
Responsibilities include: Prepare and distribute various reports using Advance and Access databases to inform strategy and execution. Provide exceptional and timely customer service to the Darden Advancement team, Alumni, Volunteers and other key partners. Prepare and produce Advancement mailings including solicitations, acknowledgments, stewardship pieces and executive briefings. Identify business processes and other new opportunities to create a more effective and efficient Advancement operation. Perform Advancement data entry while ensuring and promoting an environment of complete data integrity. Support the Darden Advancement team in managing the goals and strategies of the department. Perform administrative duties for the Darden Advancement team.
The successful candidate will have: Bachelor's degree in business or related field Minimum two years of experience providing administrative support in an academic or professional environment. Experience working for a non-profit, foundation, or academic institution. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. An understanding of philanthropic, sales or business development. Ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds, training, and experience. Ability to promote a positive image of the School and represent the School's interests before the public, media, and other schools. Intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, graphics, and database software Internet knowledge and proficiency. Understanding of database technology and web-based applications.
