California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) seeks Tenure Track faculty for an academic year appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, who has expertise in medical-surgical nursing. The successful applicant will teach in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. Applicants should have demonstrated excellence in teaching and potential for excellence in nursing research. Minimum qualifications: Earned doctorate in nursing or related field from an accredited institution of higher education, possession of or eligibility for licensure by the California Board of Registered Nurses (BRN), and demonstrated experience and expertise in medical-surgical nursing. Doctoral candidates will be considered but must have completed the doctorate by the time of appointment (August 2017). Candidates must also be qualified or eligible for California BRN approval to teach both didactic and in clinical supervision settings. Candidates must demonstrate potential for success in undergraduate and graduate teaching and the ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with colleagues on an ethnically and culturally diverse campus. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop and sustain a research program that will lead to publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Desired/preferred qualifications: Previous experience in curriculum development and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level using a variety of methodologies including online instructional delivery and/or web-based instructional methods. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated intercultural competence with diverse groups in teaching, research and/or service. Active participation in professional organizations is desired.
