The Budget Accountant will be responsible for providing support to the Budget Manager in the budget/forecast process and in the analysis of monthly results vs budget report. This person will also serve as a resource for department and cost center managers in budget preparation & monthly review.
This exempt level position will report to the Budget Manager in the Division of Finance and Facilities.
Budget Preparation: • Assist in preparing budget and forecast templates for distribution to departments and maintaining Enterprise Budgeting files. • Serve as a resource for departments during budget preparation.
Budget Process: • Responsible for monitoring and tracking budget/forecast receipt and input process. • Assist in budget meetings and in review of submitted budgets.
Monthly Review: • Review monthly department/cost center budget variances and work with department/cost center managers to understand variances. • Develop and prepare reports and analysis to facilitate monthly financial reviews.
Foundation: • Prepare pledge and contribution reconciliations monthly. • Prepare related journal entries, as needed. • Assist in maintenance of fund balance reports, as needed.
Other: • Prepare assigned reconciliations and journal entries. Prepare various account analyses. • Assist in other duties as needed to further the goals of the department. This might include assisting in preparing slides and other documents for Finance Committee meetings and assisting in maintenance of the Chart of Accounts.
