Posting Summary: Intramural-Recreational Sports (IM-Rec Sports), a division of UVA Athletics, serves faculty, staff, students and their families in many areas of recreation, wellness and fitness. This is a wage position for the IM-Rec Sports Department.
The Departmental Technical Support position will be responsible for providing technical support services to departmental users to ensure timely problem resolution, system/data access and optimal system performance. Additional responsibilities include: Provide support for desktop, mobile computing, client/server, VoIP phone and web-based technology. They use knowledge of systems analysis and troubleshooting to implement and support technical solutions. Develop skills and perform assignments that are generally routine in nature and at the task level on a daily or regular basis. Address routine problems and use judgment in selecting among authorized procedures. Duties completed with minimal latitude for un-reviewed actions/decisions. Work under immediate supervision, seeking assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise. Interactions are typically with fellow team members and departmental end users.
Typical work schedule - Monday through Friday.
Required Minimum Level of Education: *Degree or Equivalent Experience Required
Required Specific Degree/Training: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or related discipline. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Required Minimum Level of Experience: Some - up to 4 years
Required Specific Experience: Experience providing IT support.
